Well this is going to be catch up about both my laptop and our travels.

Sunday May 6th - Our group split up for a few days with Chuck & Paulie heading for Dallas to see family. Wayne and I were going to head to Frisco TX to see my nephew and family but our plans changed when there busy schedule changed and they weren't going to be home. So we decided to change our plans and travel with the rest of our group to Las Cruces.   

We were excited to have Wayne's Elementary and High School buddy Harvey and his wife Norma drive up from El Paso to see us. It had been four years since we had seen them and it was good to catch up.  We all enjoyed a great dinner at La Posta in the Old Mesilla district, if you are ever in Las Cruces this is the place to have authentic Mexican dinner, it was so good.

Monday May 7th - On the move again we drove to Fort Stockton TX and spend the night.  About 3:00am we had a huge thunder, lightening, wind and rain storm that I thought was going to pick us up and and fly us off to the next state.  Had not been in that extreme of weather in I don't know how long. Luckily the heavy stuff was gone by the time we were ready to head out for Kerrville TX.

Tuesday May 8th - It was a wet drive to Kerrville but we made it without mishap. We stayed at "By The Lake RV Park" which sits right on the Guadalupe river and we had a great view out our window.  The rest of the day was spent relaxing.

Wednesday May 9th -  We drove to Fredricksburg had a great time walking around the old town. We wanted to tour some of the museums but didn't have time.   

We had a great hamburger for lunch at the Alamo Springs Cafe about 10 miles outside of Fredericksburg, we had been warned that it was big enough to split between us and it was.




 We really enjoyed this part of Texas and have decided we would like to come back and spend a couple weeks here.  
That evening we dropped in on the Workhorse Chassis Rally being held at the Guadalupe River RV Park in Kerrville and visited with a few of our friends that were attending.
 
May 10th - 13th - San Antonio TX -  We stayed at the Alamo/San Antonio KOA.  Thurs. night there was a HUGE thunder, lightening, wind and rain storm, thought we were going to float away at one point.  Not sure if lightening struck but we lost our inverter...ugh!

May 14th - 16th -  Moved to the Houston area, will update in a day or two.
 
 

 Laptop Update -

When Wayne called Dell they were able to diagnose my laptop as having a bad hard drive, they wanted us to pack it up and ship it to them and they would repair it and send it back to us repaired and with all of our information deleted.  We explained we were traveling for the next 4 months and would not be in one location for them to do that.  We wanted to take it to a local Dell repair and have it fixed, well after about an hour of discussion a supervisor finally said they would go ahead and over night it to us and we would have to pay for the new hard drive to be installed/replaced at our place of choice.  They would overnight it on Wed to the KOA where we are staying until Monday.  Well guess what it's Saturday night and we still don't have it and we are leaving this location on Monday.....Geeze!!!  It was delivered Monday at 1:00pm.  Will now have to find someone that will backup my documents and programs and install the hard drive.
