Meet Maggie–What a Joy!

We want to wish everyone a Very Happy New Year and may 2012 be a good one for all of you.

On October 30th we found a cute little furry girl, when we saw her and held her in our arms we knew we wanted to take her home. We named her Maggie.

She had been rescued from the pound in Bakersfield, by “Wings of Prayer Rescue Center” out of Sebastopol and brought up here. She was pregnant and had a litter of 5 puppies but only 2 survived. She was placed into a foster home where she was given lots of love and taken very good care by her foster Mom who cried when we took her.

It was a scary day for Maggie leaving her 2 puppies and foster Mom, whom she had become very attached to.

After a couple days Maggie was running around, snuggling and giving lots of wet kisses to all of us.

They guessed she is 20-24 months and thought she is a Mini Schnauzer mix. Our vet thinks she is a Cairn Terrie mix. For fun we did a DNA test to see, we are waiting for the results.

She is the Queen of our home and has been a joy to have.

Looking forward to our 1st trip of 2012 this Friday, heading south to Indio CA for 2 weeks and taking her with us. She loves riding in the car so hopefully will like riding in the Motorhome.

Don’t want to make this post to long so tomorrow I will tell you about the scary attack where we almost lost her.

Have a great day everyone!!

  1. She is really a cutie, and I like the name Maggie, My son has a Sadie Mae who is a little one too.But she has Our Rigg's who is a 100 lb Lab for a protector and he is sure a Gentle Ben with his little sister. Glad to hear she is okay after being attacked.Be safe out there. Sam & Donna..
